Portland, Ore

A restaurant floor has a lot of standards to meet. It must be durable to withstand the wear and tear of foot traffic and food carts. It must be cleanable and able to repel spills and normal wear and tear. It must be slip-resistant to avoid injuries to staff or clientele. And last but not least, it must be designed (colored, textured, or patterned) to complement the theme of the restaurant.

Vintner’s Cellars in NW Portland tasked us with salvaging their existing painted concrete floor, which had seen better days and provide an economical yet decorative solution that would be hygienic and easy to clean.

The previous tenant had painted over a decorative overlay and only once we started to grind the floor did we exposed 3 different colored overlaid sections in the space; so a uniform staining with one color would not be an option. Another consideration was the adjoining bakery which had ovens in operation 24 hours a day meaning solvent based finishes and stains would not be permitted in the space.

After consulting with the owners it was decided to leave the existing overlay in place and proceed with a water based stain in 2 different colors and sealed with a water based urethane finish with some anti-slip additive.

Restaurant floors may need to be industrial strength, but they do not need to be industrial looking and the antiqued look of the finished floor compliments the new space and gives it a vintage cellar look.

With the right application of a sealer, this floor requires little maintenance, and is simple to keep clean.   A simple waxing every 3-6 months will provide a durable finish for years to come.

We also installed a custom back bar, comprised of our Recycled Glass Wall finish in a beautiful blue.  This system can be installed on virtually any existing wall – in this case we installed over tile board and holes were drilled into the surface afterwards to support the shelving.

Made of 98% pre-consumer recycled glass, this gorgeously green product is not only kind to the environment; it will enhance your environment. Quartz Carpet recycled glass walls are made of reclaimed windows from old buildings, and manufacturing waste from window and windshield production. Introduced in 2007 our recycled glass wall is available in wide variety of colors and we can incorporate logos and corporate identities with ease.

We have an uncompromising commitment to quality, and a dedication to providing eco-friendly building product alternatives for our customers’ living and business environments.

We provide installation services for our products throughout Oregon, Washington, California, British Columbia, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana and for clients outside of this area, we can work with you to find a suitable installation contractor or provide you with installation instructions.

About our Restaurant Floors:

Decorative Concrete Floors are ideal for fine dining establishments & resorts, fast food diners, cafes, and bar & grills. Not only do they look great but they are strong and will last indefinitely with the proper cleaning system.

We have numerous systems depending on the use and design requirements.

When most people think of cement they imagine a dull, uninspired surface, but decorative concrete floors can be designed and created in hundreds of colors and styles to accent any restaurant design.

  • Polished concrete can be stained a variety of colors. We can polish the existing concrete floor or add self-leveling concrete to even uneven floors. This economical system looks great and is extremely durable.
  • Stained concrete floors have a natural organic look because the stain highlights the patterns and natural composition of the concrete. We can stain existing or self-leveling concrete.
  • Thin Overlays & Stampable Overlays offer many intricate patterns and sophisticated designs. Dining room designs can be extended outside to the entrance or patio areas.

Graphic Design choices look like stone or tile. Logos can also be imprinted in the concrete.
