We were asked to install a slip resistant, durable coating that would resist the inevitable oil, grease spills that Jon Mark had from working on his race bikes. The prep on his neighbors garage involved no more than an acid wash of the floor and the application of a poor epoxy product that was destined to fail. Regardless of the quality of the materials used, the most important aspect of coatings for garage floors is the prep – an acid etching does not leave a profile that will allow for any coating to bond for any significant amount of time.
